Hemorrhoid Treatments
Hemorrhoids are inflamed or swollen veins that are located in the anus area. When this is not addressed these hemorrhoids will grow in size and the tissue consisting it will increase in mass. Then it becomes a problem when you have a bowel movement. Some cases of hemorrhoids can cause intense pain during a visit to the comfort room, and even cause bleeding after the bowel movement. At times there is no pain at all, just severe bleeding. In all cases, treatment is needed and if the problem persists even after a prescription from your doctor, it is time to consider other more daring interventions.
By just doing regular exercise, drinking a lot of water (if possible more than 8 glasses of water every day) and eating the right foods such as fruits and vegetables and whole wheat grains (all rich in fiber) can alleviate symptoms of hemorrhoids.
If that doesn’t work, your doctor can perform rubber band ligation. In this procedure, two small rubber bands are placed at the base of your hemorrhoids, effectively cutting off blood supply and “killing” the tissue that consist your hemorrhoid. There will be pain involve and a bit of bleeding but this procedure is effective with very low recurrence rate.
If that still doesn’t work then you can opt for more invasive procedures like hemorrhoidectomy that completely removes the excess tissue through surgery. Hemorrhoid treatments will vary from one case to the next. Needless to say, eradication of the hemorrhoid must be the sole aim, not just pan alleviation and bleeding control.
